I wrote and performed this play with music originally in 1998 as an Masters thesis project. It opened the Changing House studio at The Tron Theatre, Glasgow, and was nominated for a Fringe First Edinburgh Festival. I rewrote this play for 2017, with Helen O'Neill in the lead role. It recognises the lost contributions of Emmy Hennings - the only professional performer and the only woman in the original Zurich Cabaret Voltaire troupe - to the birth of Dadaism. An itinerant singer tormented by her early life who reinvented herself perpetually until she found calm.
This play, available for touring, forms part of the Cabaret Voltaire 101.
